Microsoft Acquires Wednesday

An early announcement, which was pulled, and later confirmed reveals: ‘Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays.’ Microsoft’s online service is set to release a series of retro games, one per week.

Games such as Frogger, Galaga, Pac-Man, and even a Street Fighter II will make appearances over the summer months.

Today’s version of Frogger “has been enhanced and reinvigorated for the Xbox 360 and features new, enhanced artwork that matches and complements the original style. In addition, the game’s audio, including sound effects and music ditties, has been modernised [sic] to sound crisp and clear on today’s high performance sound systems.”

In addition to remastering, the gameplay has also been changed. Frogger is now a multi-player game as well, featuring split-screen, co-op, and head-to-head modes.
