The issue will also feature work by Jeff Smith and Mike Allred. So, like, yay.
Now that Marvel owns Miracleman (nee Marvelman) outright, the publisher is finally getting around to exploiting that property properly. And first up, Marvel is putting out an duology of brand new Miracleman tales. Set for release this December, All-New Miracleman Annual #1 explores the character from both sides, beginning with his origins as a thinly veiled Captain Marvel knock-off called Marvelman, then skipping ahead to the 1980s rebranding as Miracleman, at which time the character was on the forefront of the then-new deconstructionist movement in comics.
What to expect? Peter Milligan and Madman creator Mike Allred collaborate on a brand new Miracleman story that pays homage to the Marvelman days, featuring Miracleman, Kid Miracleman and Young Miracleman. The big sell, however, is a story with art by Marvel’s Joe Quesada, based on a script written 20 years ago by Grant Morrison that was never published. Finally, it boasts variant covers by Quesada and Bone creator Jeff Smith.
