A promotional trailer has been released in support of Uwe Boll’s latest contribution to cinematic culture, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale.

Based on the story of a man named Farmer, A Dungeon Siege Tale tells the tale of his attempts to rescue his wife and avenge his son, kidnapped and murdered respectively by the beast-like Krug, a race of warriors under the sway of the evil Gallian. Based on Gas Powered Games’ action-RPG Dungeon Siege, the movie stars Jason Statham as Farmer and Ray Liotta as Gallian, as well as Burt Reynolds, John Rhys-Davies, Claire Forlani, Ron Perlman and Leelee Sobieski, all of whom should know better.

Boll is well known to most gamers for his unique and distinctive videogame-movie adaptations which include titles such as Alone in the Dark, BloodRayne and Postal, as well as for his penchant for beating the hell out of his critics in public arenas. Along with the upcoming Dungeon Siege Tale, Boll is also currently at work on a movie version of Far Cry, as well as the sequels BloodRayne II: Deliverance and Alone in the Dark II.

In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale is scheduled for release later this year. The new trailer can be viewed here.
