Resolution Games is aiming to bring back the thrill of the arcade through its new game portal Retrocade, which is set to soon be available on mobile.
The game will be available on Apple Arcade on February 5 for Apple Vision Pro, iPhone, and iPad, with it bringing together a collection of the most popular arcade hits into one place.
At launch, the game will include Asteroids, Bubble Bobble, Centipede, Galaga, and more which are yet to be unveiled. Other of the arcade legends written on the website include Pac Man, Space Invaders, and Breakout.
According to Apple, those with the Vision pro will be able to immerse themselves in an actual arcade and step back in time to play the classics as they used to be played when they were originally released.
What’s coming to Apple Arcade in February
The old-school classics aren’t the only ones to be joining Apple’s video game subscription, as the award-winning strategy franchise by Sid Meier will also be added to the platform on February 5.
In Sid Meier’s Civilization VII Arcade Edition, players can take the AAA PC gaming experience on the go, with it marking a new chapter in the series. Empires will evolve with the dawn of each distinct age of human history, with players’ decisions shaping the cultural lineage of their civilizations.
This will join other PC games that have recently made the leap to Apple Arcade too, including PowerWash Simulator and Cult of the Lamb Arcade Edition.
As for completely new games entering the Apple arcade, aside from Retrocade, there will be the introduction of Felicity’s Door which is a rhythm game that takes players on a journey through Tom and Felicity’s magical world of dreams.
The psychedelic puzzle game, I Love Hue Too+, will be added to the subscription too, with this allowing people to arrange mosaics of colored tiles into perfectly ordered spectrums.
