“We have to make this game win”: shroud urges fans to vote for ARC Raiders as Game of the Year

FPS streamer Michael “shroud” Grzesiek is glazing ARC Raiders hard ahead of the Game Awards.

On a stream earlier today, shroud told his viewers to vote for ARC Raiders for Game of the Year at the upcoming Game Awards. He doesn’t just like the game, however, he just wants Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to lose.

ARC Raiders vs. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

shroud has been heavily invested in ARC Raiders ever since the extraction shooter launched its Open Beta in June. Even back then, shroud felt that ARC Raiders was going to win Game of the Year.

“I’m addicted,” he added. “I genuinely think this is going to be the best game of the year.”

Now, soon after ARC RAIDER’s official launch, shroud is still confident in the game ahead of the Game Awards in December. However, it does have a possible rival in that category: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Expedition 33 is an RPG, by the way, that is not a direct rival to ARC Raiders in reality. The two have very little crossover and a different playerbase. However, both could potentially win the coveted title, and shroud doesn’t want an FPS to lose.

“We all have to band together to make this game win. Us multiplayer gamers are the minority, but I believe we can win,” shroud told his fans. “I’ve never voted for anything ever, but I think I’m going to vote this year for this game.”

Can ARC Raiders truly beat games like Hades 2, Split Fiction, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Ghost of Yotei? Or Expedition 33 even? I think it’d be a pretty shocking result. It’d be even more hard pressed to earn the award since the community votes don’t matter, according to shroud.

“When have you ever seen an award that’s actually legit?” he questioned.

This mindset started last year, when Astro Bot beat Black Myth: Wukong for the win. It almost seems like shroud just prefers games that aren’t as popular or worthy of the title. While ARC Raiders has won over many FPS players and has plenty of plans ahead, it’s safe to say it’s not as mainstream and widespread as a game like Split Fiction or Silksong.

Still, I commend shroud for the effort.
