Nintendo Responds to Wii Issues

This article is over 18 years old and may contain outdated information

Reports of Nintendo Wii system failures have begun to spread, prompting Nintendo to respond with replacement and repair plans.

Some users with bad flash chips in their Nintendo Wii’s have had issues following the online update that is supposed to unlock the Wii Store channel and SD card slot. Users who receive error codes 110213 or 32002 will not be able to fix their system manually and will no longer be able to go online with it.

In response to the known issue, Nintendo is overnight shipping replacement consoles to affected customers and asking that they return the broken one. If users have save game information that they want to keep, they have to send their system into Nintendo for repair which could take up to two weeks.

There are no official or unofficial estimates of how many systems are affected by this issue at press time.
