ozark season 3 release date march netflix

Ozark, the perennial also-ran Netflix series that focuses on a family thrust into the world of drug cartels, has a release date for its third season. The show, starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney, will return on March 27, 2020.

The series has pulled in plenty of nominations over its first two seasons but hasn’t seen very many wins, nor has it garnered the cultural impact that other Netflix shows manage to. Still, it has a devoted following and one of the more intense storylines of any show on the streamer. Plus, both Bateman and Linney deliver striking performances throughout as Marty and Wendy Byrde, winning Bateman a SAG award last year.

The third season looks to ratchet up the tension between its two characters as Marty and Wendy struggle to control the new power and life they’ve found in the Ozarks. Marty wants to keep things as is, but Wendy is seeing opportunities for more with the help of cartel leader Omar Navarro. Of course, nothing ever goes smoothly, so her brother Ben will be showing up as well to make things even more complicated.

If season three can deliver on the increasing quality and tension of the series, it may give Ozark the final shove it needs.
