Pacific Rim 2 Has A Release Date

Director Guillermo del Toro announces the release date for Pacific Rim 2 is April 7, 2017.

We have a date for the sequel to 2013’s Kaiju-Jaeger Toro flick. Director Guillermo del Toro and Legendary Pictures have just confirmed that Pacific Rim 2 is set to release on April 7, 2017.

That’s right, three years from now!

Story writer for The Avengers and co-writer of the X-Men: The Last Stand script Zak Penn will be writing the script for the sequel. Travis Beacham, the original screenwriter for Pacific Rim, will also be assisting Penn and Toro expand the lore.

In between now and the sequel, there will also be a Pacific Rim animated series released. Toro makes his announcement from Toronto, Canada as he’s finishing up Crimson Peek.
