Plants vs. Zombies 2 Delayed to “Later This Summer”

Plants vs. Zombies 2 won’t be ready for its July launch after all.

Announced in early June, Plants vs. Zombies 2 was originally supposed to come out on July 18, exclusively for iOS devices. But now EA says that date will pass uneventfully, at least as far as plants and zombies are concerned, because the game isn’t going to be ready on time.

Plants vs. Zombies 2, originally slated for a July 18th release, will now be released later in the summer. Stay tuned for more details,” EA announced by way of the official Plants vs. Zombies Twitter account. Reasons for the postponement weren’t given but EA said in a follow-up tweet, “We’re sorry for the delay, but want to make sure the game lives up to fans’ expectations.”

Unfortunately, EA also said the game isn’t being held up so it can be readied for a multiplatform launch. “It will release on Apple products first!” the publisher said.

A new release date has not yet been announced.
