The world’s largest porn site, Pornhub.com, reports a 10% drop in traffic the day Fallout 4 was released.
According to Pornhub, thousands of users left the porn site to play spoke to GamesBeat: “We can’t say we’re too surprised with what happened to our traffic during peak gaming hours.”
“Based on the data, it looks like a huge surge of people decided to indulge in some wasteland wandering by taking the day off of work and school to play, while the rest of the world had to wade through what we assume were the longest hours of work ever in anticipation of some alone time with their consoles.”
You’d think the site is kicking itself over not adapting to a wrist-mounted, Pip-Boy interface, but you’d be wrong – they’re pretty good sports about it. “As huge fans of the game, we can’t say we blame anyone for swapping Pornhub time for some Pip-Boy surfing instead,” says Price. “We would have done the same.”
Can you blame gamers for choosing to play with their Codsworth and Dogmeat? Fallout 4 continues to be one of the most critically-praised and widely-played PC games ever. Steam has the concurrent user numbers topping at 400,000; Bethesday says they’ve sold at least 12 million copies already, and that number is bound to rise.
So far, neither Bethesda nor Pornhub have announced a partnership deal to produce a XXX parody of the game (Fallout Foreplay!), but I think we can safely assume one is in the works. Escapist readers: I need your hypothetical porn title puns!
