The news coming out of Crytek UK just goes from bad to worse.

Earlier in the year, we heard a bit about Crytek’s UK office facing some financial troubles, with reports coming in that employees weren’t being paid properly and even refusing to come to work. Now, there’s some more news, and it’s certainly not getting any better. According to Kotaku sources, Homefront: The Revolution game director Hasit Zala resigned from his position at Crytek UK this week.

“It creates a weird scenario as there are now no upper management,” said a person connected to Crytek UK. “Everything is just continuing on a downwards spiral.” Crytek UK development manager Ben Harris also left the studio this month, and there are reports that many more employees have quit the company, or are at least actively searching for new jobs.

Zala was also franchise director for the free-to-play shooter Warface. Crytek’s UK studio is responsible for developing Homefront: The Revolution, the open-world sequel to 2011’s Homefront that debuted just before E3 earlier this year.

There’s certainly a lot of stuff going on over at Crytek, and from the pieces we’ve been able to gather, it’s not adding up to a particularly pretty picture. We’ve reached out to Crytek and Homefront: The Revolution publisher Deep Silver for comment on the situation but have yet to receive a response.
