Super Nintendo World Coming to Universal Studios Japan by 2020

This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

Universal Studios Japan, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood will all have Nintendo-themed areas – and the first will arrive in 2020.

Nintendo and Universal studios recently confirmed that Nintendo-themed areas would be made available in three Universal Studios and Resorts parks – in Japan, Orlando, and Hollywood – although not much information was provided outside of the fact that they would include “expansive, immersive, and interactive,” with shops, restaurants, and multiple attractions. Now, we’ve got our first concrete information about the first, which will arrive ahead of the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020 – and it’s called Super Nintendo World.

Nintendo has shared concept art for this first park, which is fairly large in scale. The view of the layout doesn’t show the entire area, but what is shown unsurprisingly focuses on the world of Nintendo’s suspender-clad mascot, Mario. However, Nintendo did say that Super Nintendo World will feature “attractions based on many Nintendo titles.”

You can check out the concept art in the photo below, and feel free to hop over to the comments to let us know what sorts of things you’d like to see in a Nintendo-themed amusement park. Like a Rainbow Road roller coaster, or a Zora’s Domain water park, or anything at all with Metroid.
