The Bureau’s Agent Cole Embarks Upon “The Chase”

This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

The tale of Agent Cole appears to have come to an unhappy ending.

A few days ago, the internet decided the fate of Ennis Cole – Dominic Monaghan of Lord of the Rings and Lost fame, for those of you struggling with a “that guy looks familiar” itch – an agent of The Bureau who, in the wake of unbearable loss, opted for the bottle and not the gun. The video hinted that Cole’s resignation was irrevocable, although that suggestion was betrayed somewhat by the “continue the chase” tagline; and sure enough, despite his decision, the sounding alarm led Cole to take the field once more.

It doesn’t look like Cole’s last mission for The Bureau is going to end on a positive note (although I suppose that wasn’t likely anyway) but given the game’s conspiratorial bent, perhaps all is not as it appears. Maybe this wasn’t actually an incursion at all, but a Bureau retirement party; after all, Cole implies in the previous video that his knowledge of the truth could be problematic, and nothing seals lips like two in the head. Not great for morale, but tough times call for tough measures.

The Bureau: XCom Declassified comes out on August 20 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
