The new, expanded demo “opens new paths and content for players to enjoy” leading up to Resident Evil 7‘s January release.
Capcom has announced that a third and final updated version of the Resident Evil 7 demo, Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour, is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, and PlayStation VR. Although the demo is currently a timed PlayStation exclusive, Capcom did say that the demo, in its entirety, will hit Xbox One on December 9 and Steam on December 19. The updated demo, “Midnight,” takes the player back to that creepy mansion where players will “finally see how everything comes together” and will be able to “explore what lies beyond the mold-covered door, where terrifying growling noises emanate from.”
In Resident Evil 7, the player controls protagonist Ethan Winters, “who has been led to a mysterious abandoned plantation in search of his missing wife.” Capcom has also released a new trailer, which you can view below, showing off flashes of the “disturbing scenes” that players can expect when the game releases.
Resident Evil 7 releases on January 24, 2017, for PlayStation 4 (with an optional PlayStation VR mode), Xbox One, and Windows PC.
