New The Walking Dead spin-off of AMC has main characters

The Next Walking Dead Spin-Off Show Has Found Its First Three Leads

AMC’s third show in The Walking Dead universe has found its first three actors. The untitled spin-off series has listed Alexa Mansour (Unfriended: Dark Web), Nicolas Cantu (The Amazing World of Gumball), and Hal Cumpston (Bilched) to take the leading roles in the 2020 show.

Considering we already know The Walking Dead spin-off will star two lead actresses, AMC has yet to announce who will join Mansour to co-star.

Variety sources reportedly describe Mansour’s character as “a good-natured rule breaker who lives for today.”

Last April, AMC talked about its plans to keep The Walking Dead series of spin-offs breathing at the AMC Networks Summit. Ten episodes are set to premiere next year, and the show will be led by Walking Dead producer and writer Matt Negrete. Additionally, chief content officer of the Walking Dead universe, Scott M. Gimple, will serve as co-creator. The show will be a coming-of-age story set during the events of the series’s apocalypse.

AMC talked on the show’s character development in a press release from last year: “Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.”

Negrete also commented on his involvement in a statement: “Writing and producing for the original series has been the job of a lifetime and I’m honored to be working with Scott and all the fine Dead folks at AMC in this new capacity. I can’t wait for the fans of the franchise to see what we’ve been cooking up!”

The Walking Dead is about to enter season 10, with Fear the Walking Dead currently progressing through its fifth season.
