Trolls 2 Announed News

Can’t stop the sequel!

Everyone’s favorite drug stand-ins will be back, as Dreamworks Animation has announced that Trolls 2 will be released on April 10, 2020.

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake are set to reprise their roles as Poppy and Branch. No plot details have been released, but given what happened in the first film, one has to imagine that it’ll be a(nother) “team up to save the Trolls from danger” type of sequel.

The first movie has, to date, grossed over $339 million worldwide on a budget of $125 million, and there are not yet any numbers available for all of the merchandise sold – which is, almost without doubt, one of the main reasons a sequel is happening.

Trolls was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song. “Can’t Stop the Feeling” was the song in question, and if you’ve tuned into a pop radio station in the last six months, you’ve probably heard it. It’s this year’s “Happy.” We should not celebrate that.

Trolls wasn’t as bad as it looked like it might be, so I’ll remain cautiously optimistic about the sequel. How about you?
