“Unreleased Japanese Final Fight Intro” is All Your Base-tastic

This article is over 14 years old and may contain outdated information

This “unreleased Japanese intro” to classic beat-em-up Final Fight might not be real, but it is hilarious.

What you see above is supposedly the unreleased intro sequence to the Japanese version of Capcom’s classic beat-em-up Final Fight, never-before-seen until it resurfaced today on the Capcom Unity blog. Personally, I’m not entirely sure it’s genuine – it’s been a long time since I’ve taken a Japanese class, but there are some points where the speech and text just don’t match up.

Real or not, though, it’s absolutely hilarious. This is the sort of Babelfish-quality Engrish we haven’t seen in videogames since the likes of Zero Wing and its famous “all your base are belong to us.”

Go ahead – I dare you not to laugh at lines like “Many violences are happening!!” and “Ha ha! Mr. Haggar, the troubles begin for you!” And those aren’t even the funniest lines in the video.

It’s enough to get one psyched for Final Fight: Double Impact, which comes out next week (the 14th and 15th, to be precise) on XBLA and PSN. Which, now that I think about it, was probably the whole point of this video.

Still funny, though.
