UT3 Modifications Will Come to 360

This article is over 17 years old and may contain outdated information

The 360 will see modified content for Unreal Tournament 3, but it’s not clear how.

The PlayStation 3 already has a decisive leg-up on the Xbox 360 for Unreal Tournament fans, as the title will ship out for the former platform in 2007, whereas 360 owners will be waiting around until next year.

When publisher Midway announced that the PS3 would also feature user-created content, such as map or weapon mods, via memory stick, that appeared to seal the deal.

But word has it that 360 content will also be moddable, though details need to be hashed out.

“To bring mods to 360, we’re going to have to make some serious changes,” Mark Rein told the Official Xbox Magazine.

Details are scarce on whether either console will feature the mods on their proprietary online services. It is presumed that the development of the mods themselves will take place on the PC.
