Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Is Real & Coming in January

Ubisoft has grabbed hold of the Dagger of Time and is rewinding to 2003 with a remake of its classic game, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The game had been heavily rumored for a while now but was announced today with a trailer at the Ubisoft Forward event today as Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.

First things first, let’s just acknowledge the nightmare fuel that every face in this game is. There’s something off-putting about whatever Ubisoft has done while rebuilding the game, pushing every character’s face into some terrible uncanny valley. That being said, the game is truly a masterpiece, and having it updated and playable will be fantastic. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been tweaked and improved upon not only visually but in camera and combat as well. Voice actor Yuri Lowenthal is also returning to play the Prince.

As an added bonus, you’ll be able to unlock “the original Prince of Persia game (’92 Mac version) along your adventure and access it from the Main Menu whenever you want.”

The aptly named Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will release on Jan. 21 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. There are unconfirmed rumors that it will be coming to Switch later in the year.
