Rambo: The Videogame: First Gameplay Trailer

The first gameplay trailer for Rambo: The Videogame promises to let you massacre small-town deputies in the sweltering jungles of Afghanistan.

Honest truth: I had completely forgotten about the Rambo videogame. A link to this trailer showed up in my email this morning and I thought, “Whoa, a Rambo game?” And then I had a look at it and I thought, “Well, you can grab a man by the face and drive a knife through his neck, that’s pretty groovy.” And that hair! You don’t see that kind of ‘do every day.

Reef Entertainment has previously said that the Rambo videogame will be “triple-A” stuff and cover everything from First Blood through Rambo: First Blood Part II and Rambo III. And no, the first Rambo movie was actually not called “Rambo,” it was First Blood, pure and simple. Seriously, go look it up. Jeez, you kids.

So what’s the verdict? I’m a little iffy on the graphics, but shooting an NVA regular with an M60 so much that he explodes goes a long way toward balancing the scales. And you really can’t overlook that business with the the guy and the knife and the neck, either. I think that for now – speaking strictly for myself, of course – I’ll file this one under “maybe.”

Rambo: The Videogame is “coming soon” for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
