Rogue One Writer Gary Whitta Wants to Write an Animated Star Fox Film

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story “story” writer Gary Whitta says he is interested in writing for an animated Star Fox movie. The Star Wars vet took to Twitter to plainly express his desires when responding to fan artwork from Raf Grassetti, art director for God of War (2018). When Whitta quoted the tweet saying, “I want to write this animated movie,” Grassetti responded with some excitement of his own.

After the above tweet made its way over to Game Revolution, Whitta doubled down on his comments, saying, “It’s true. All of it.”

Of course, no such film is in the works. Nintendo has not made any sort of announcement regarding anything in the Star Fox universe in quite some time, but the possibilities are at least fun to ponder. Considering Rogue One’s reception as a team-based space film and Grassetti’s work thus far, we can at least confidently say that a Star Fox film with these two on board would really be something special.

Grassetti has used his artistic abilities to share a number of unique takes on classic Nintendo characters in a series of posts themed around the Super Smash Bros. franchise. His newest postings have specifically focused on Star Fox though, to all fans’ benefit.
