The Black Glove Adds VR Support to Save Failing Kickstarter

With time running out, Day For Night Games is adding Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus support in hopes of successfully completing The Black Glove‘s crowd-funding campaign.

When The Black Glove Kickstarter launched earlier this month, it seemed to have some of the elements needed for a successful campaign: ex-BioShock devs at the helm, promises of “surreal” and “narrative” gameplay, and a not-unreasonable $550,000 goal. Nearly a month later, not even a third of that goal has been met with just days to go. In an attempt to save the failing campaign, Day For Night Games has agreed to add VR support if The Black Glove meets its initial goal.

Day For Night Games announced “Operation: Save The Black Glove” in a Kickstarter update, promising releases on Oculus Rift and Sony’s Project Morpheus if the developer can raise $550,000 before time is up. According to Day For Night Games’ Joe Fielder, the last-ditch effort was inspired by the efforts of Camoflaj when crowd-funding Republique, which managed to crawl past its $500,000 Kickstarter goal at the very end of its campaign. “Camoflaj’s Ryan Payton actually wrote us yesterday with the message, ‘YOU CAN DO IT!!’, inspiring us to… rally our backers, friends, and colleagues to help,” Fielder stated in an email.

With six days to go until The Black Glove‘s Kickstarter ends, only $152,610 has been raised as of this writing. Things are looking grim for Day For Night Games’ debut, which is also planned for PC, Mac, and Linux, but the developer isn’t giving up until time runs out on November 7 at 5:30 pm ET.
