Tripwire Announces Rising Storm 2: Vietnam

John Gibson, President of Tripwire Interactive, revealed the new title at the 2015 E3 PC Gaming Show Tuesday night.

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is an “asymmetrical shooter” set during the Vietnam war. The trailer shows U.S. and Viet Cong troops engaged in ground based combat, along with some military helicopters.

The original Rising Storm was a standalone expansion to Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad.

“We’re bringing our gritty and realistic military shooter gameplay forward to a time when assault rifles ruled the ground, choppers ruled the skies, and every tunnel could hide an ambush,” Gibson said.

No information was given as to when the game can be expected.

Tripwire Interactive’s Killing Floor 2 is also currently in Early Access, and it was announced that a free “Incinerate ‘n Detonate” content pack expansion featuring new maps, weapons and perks is being added, along with assurances that player stats will not be wiped. A free update will be bringing a brand new advanced gore tech mechanic to Killing Floor 2, with promises of “body parts hanging from the ceiling.”
