Every new announcement in the Midnight Deep Dive
The bulk of the Midnight Deep Dive was dedicated to already-known features and slices of content, shining a light on the story, PvE content, and upcoming zones.
The event started with a summary of what fans can expect from the story; we’ll be starting on Quel’Thalas, with Xal’atath’s forces trying to put out the Sunwell’s light, with Silvermoon City acting as a core location for both factions.
Interestingly, the Ghostlands and Eversong Woods will be merged into one gigantic zone, in keeping with the area’s overhaul for the expansion.
Additionally, there’ll be three main quest paths for players to choose from after they’re done exploring Eversong Woods in Midnight.
One will take them through the legendary troll kingdom of Zul’Aman, another through Harandar, the home of the Haranir, and the final through old realms, accompanying Arator. It seems as though the third option will be the most lore-dense path out of the trio.
There’s a bounty of new content on the way alongside the expansion campaign, including eight dungeons, three raids, ten delves, and a new nemesis delve. In the latter form of content, players will be battling alongside Valeera instead of Brann; hopefully, she won’t be yelling at us about webs as much.
A new area that stood out during the showcase was the Arcantina – a new, cozy-looking social hub that’ll be open to both Horde and Alliance players. It seems to have a much more laid-back vibe than its other Midnight counterparts and should be a good source of interesting quests.
While many of the details in the Deep Dive had been shown off to some extent already, it was a great example of the attention to detail that’s seemingly been applied to Midnight. New features like Prey and player housing look rich, and the story seems like it’ll be packed to the brim with interesting lore snippets.
Key details revealed in WoW Midnight developer Q&A
A developer Q&A was held immediately after the Midnight Deep Dive, featuring Ion Hazzikostas, Paul Kubit, and Maria Hamilton.
Player housing was a big topic in the Q&A. The team revealed that battle pets won’t be available to place in your home right from the get-go due to technical issues around pathing, but that they would be added down the line. Hunter pets, however, present many more issues.
Additionally, it’ll be incredibly easy to pack up and move plots if you want to change your home’s location – it’ll all be bundled up without you needing to reshuffle decor.
In terms of cosmetics, players can expect a handful of new additions with Midnight; namely, Amani cosmetics for Darkspear Trolls. The team is hoping to provide more of a cosmetic variety for other races down the line, but they’ll be introduced when it makes sense for the story.
An interesting detail was revealed about the Prey mechanic – chasing Prey will affect everything in the target zone. If you’re on a Nightmare hunt, for example, everything in the affected area will be of that difficulty.
These new styles of content are viewed as being the same level of difficulty as delves, meaning there should be the same style of reward available for them eventually, but there are no specifics from the team yet.
For PvP fans, the team confirmed that PvP rewards will be getting reworked, with the top-tier cutoff being sliced down to 2300 instead of 2400. Further changes will be coming to make PvP more rewarding, in a similar vein to Mythic+ content.
Additionally, there’ll be a new type of content called Training Grounds, where players can team up together and take on computer-controlled opponents in a battleground.
Finally, it was revealed that Valorstones will be getting removed in Midnight and that there are plans to streamline the gearing process even further.
World of Warcraft Midnight is looking like a joy to play through already, and based on the passionate yelling in the livestream chat during the Deep Dive, it’s safe to say that the community is already hyped. The next instalment of the Worldsoul Saga should offer something new for everyone.

Yes, pre-orders for World of Warcraft Midnight are currently available from the Battle.net store, with the Epic Edition providing beta access and three days of early access.
At the time of writing, players can choose between four editions of Midnight: Base, Heroic, Epic, and, as revealed on October 1, 2025, the Collector’s Edition.
A release date for the final entry in the Worldsoul Saga has not been revealed yet at the time of writing; it’s likely that we’ll see one once Midnight has had a few major patches, but this is speculation on our part.
