Destiny 2 Officially Announced

Following months of leaks, rumors, and hints, Bungie has finally officially announced Destiny 2.

There have been many leaks and rumors circulating around the first full sequel to Bungie’s Destiny for months now, but it’s still nice to have some official confirmation: In a tweet today, Bungie finally announced Destiny 2.

This isn’t a huge surprise, as Activision’s investor call in February revealed a “full Destiny sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchise’s global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth.”

A leaked poster earlier this week showed the release date for Destiny 2 as September 8, with the fine print suggesting that PS4 players will have access to the game first, in the form of an exclusive beta. However, no firm release date or beta information was given as part of the official announcement.
