Werewolf by Night Trailer Brings Retro Horror to the MCU

At D23 live, Marvel Studios showed off some sneak peeks of upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, but most of them are evidently not being shared with the public. What does the public get? It gets the official trailer for Marvel Studios’ Special Presentation: Werewolf by Night, a black-and-white MCU horror story with tinges of iconic ’30s and ’40s Universal movies, and it has a release date of October 7, 2022 on Disney+. The special presentation takes place at Bloodstone Manor, and virtually no other story details are available yet.

However, as Verusa (perhaps a new character?) explains in the Werewolf by Night trailer, “Tonight, it is every hunter for themselves,” but one of them is a monster, “masquerading as one of our own.” So, it’s a hunt of hunters and vice versa, and “Death is coming for you!” It’s a simple and digestible premise that should work nicely in the Halloween season.

D23 has provided a lot of Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Disney announcements this weekend. Today’s highlights include a new Andor trailer, a new Willow trailer, the trailer for The Mandalorian season 3, and the reveal trailer for Tales of the Jedi. Yesterday marked some video game reveals, including a Captain America / Black Panther game set in World War II.
