Crucible release date Amazon Games free to play shooter May 20

Crucible, Amazon Games’ Competitive Shooter, Launches This Month

Amazon Games dropped the Crucible release date and many new details about the upcoming competitive shooter. The free-to-play title, which is developed by Relentless Studios, will release May 20 on PC. Players will be able to select from a diverse roster filled with aliens and robots as they work towards defeating other teams.

The shooter will launch with three modes: Heart of the Hives, Harvester Command, and Alpha Hunters. Heart of the Hives features two four-player teams battling against giant boss Hives that spawn around the world with the winner being the team that collects three hearts from Hives. Meanwhile, Harvester Command features two teams of eight competing to hold command points while Alpha Hunters features teams of the same size and has players battling until only one squad remains.

“In Crucible, every match is different, and players’ choices really matter,” Amazon Games Vice President Christoph Hartmann said. “Every opponent, team, and mode poses unique dangers, and no two matches are the same, so players must constantly adapt to everything the world and the other teams throw at them. We’re excited for players to join the hunt in just a couple of weeks, and we can’t wait to hear what they think of it.”

Crucible will launch with 10 characters who will each have their own weapon and abilities. Finding a character with a compatible play style is key as teams will have to work together to achieve each mode’s goal. Helping separate the shooter from similar titles is the planet itself, which constantly changes and forces the players to adapt, and that players can collect Essence to level up during matches.
