Microsoft Flight Simulator Launches on PC in August, XB1 Coming Later

Publisher Microsoft and developer Asobo Studio have announced that Microsoft Flight Simulator will be launching on Aug. 18. The game will be available on PC through the Microsoft Store and Xbox Game Pass for PC.

Microsoft Flight Simulator boasts incredible detail with over 2 million cities, 1.5 billion buildings, and realistic mountains, roads, trees, rivers, animals, and traffic. Players will also have access to different kinds of aircraft ranging from light planes to commercial jets. A day and night cycle is present as well, and the game will have real-time weather effects, including wind speed, humidity, temperature, rain, and more.

There are three different editions of Microsoft Flight Simulator. The first is the $59.99 standard version. The Deluxe Edition comes with five additional unique flight model planes and five international airports such as O’Hare International Airport and Cape Town International Airport. It will cost $89.99.

The Premium Deluxe Edition is $119.99 and includes everything from the previously mentioned Deluxe Edition, as well as another five additional aircraft and international airports. The bonus aircraft include models such as the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner and the Pipistrel Virus SW 121. Some well-known international airports are in this edition too, such as the San Francisco International Airport and the Frankfurt Airport.

The Xbox One version of Microsoft Flight Simulator is planned for release at a later date.
