AbleGamers COO Steven Spohn Is Raising $1 Million for the Org for His Birthday

Steven Spohn, COO of nonprofit organization AbleGamers, is raising $1 million for charity. In a video posted to Twitter, Spohn said he wants to celebrate his 40th birthday by ensuring that AbleGamers lasts long beyond him. The ambitious milestone has already garnered more than 1,100 supporters and $80,000 after being announced only a few hours ago.

“I have poured 15 years of my blood, sweat, and tears into creating an organization for disabled people to combat social isolation – something that all of us can identify with after the year 2020,” Spohn said in the video. “If I have any chance of making this dream come true, I’m going to need your help.”

If you’re unfamiliar with Spohn or AbleGamers, the charity organization has been working to give those with disabilities the opportunity to play video games. Here is the description right from the nonprofit’s website:

Our grant process gives people with disabilities custom gaming setups, including modified controllers and unique assistive technology, like devices that let you play with your eyes so that they can have fun with their friends and family. We’re using the power of video games to bring people together, improving the quality of life with recreation and rehabilitation.

If you’re interested in reaching the $1 million milestone to help celebrate Spohn’s birthday, you can donate at the AbleGamers website. Content creators and brands can help out by holding a fundraiser through Spawn Together.
