Nokia Tests New N-Gage Service

Nokia tests new mobile game service in Finland.

Phone company Nokia has partnered with Finnish telecommunications company Elisa to test run the new N-Gage mobile gaming platform on Nokia phones, between February and the public launch in mid 2007. Those running Elisa’s network will now be testing Nokia’s, which promises higher quality performance. The service promises online connectivity, community support and future content Electronic Arts and Gameloft.

Jaakko Kaidesoja, director of games and multimedia at Nokia, told Gamasutra, “The core of the Nokia games strategy is to make it easy for people to find, buy and play great quality mobile games and we’re excited to expand our relationship with Elisa to help make this possible. This pilot will help us further refine the N-Gage experience for our commercial launch later this year.”
