After months of rumors, the hit underwater FPS BioShock has been confirmed for the PlayStation 3.

Few details are currently available, but CVG has reported that the next issue of U.K. magazine PSM3, which goes on sale June 5, will feature a “lengthy preview” of the PlayStation 3 edition of the game along with a number of screenshots. 1Up.com is carrying similar news about the July edition of Electronic Gaming Monthly, on sale June 3, which will carry a confirmation of the PlayStation 3 release from 2K Games. EGM will also include an interview with Jordan Thomas, who took over creative director duties on BioShock from series creator Ken Levine.

Released in August 2007 for the PC and Xbox 360, BioShock was developed by 2K Boston and 2K Australia, previously known collectively as Irrational Games, and met with immediate critical and commercial acclaim. Take-Two has not yet commented on the news, and no release date has been set.
