Activision Licenses Unreal Engine 3

Today Activision announced an agreement to license Unreal Engine 3 from Epic Games.

Activision has not released any information on the project yet, but Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 has won Game Developer Magazine’s Front Line award for Best Game Engine the past three years running. Whatever the game, it will be running on a powerhouse engine.

Unreal Engine 3 is also one of few engines that is well optimized for both next-generation consoles and PCs, which should smooth the process of developing for multiple platforms at the same time.
