Apple has revealed the winner of its Billion App Countdown contest and unless you happen to be a 13-year-old boy from Connecticut, it’s not you.

Connor Mulcahey, a youngster from Weston, Connecticut, downloaded the one billionth app from the Apple’s App Store, a contact information sharing program called Bump. The hugely popular App Store opened on July 10, 2008, taking only nine months to reach a billion downloads. The App Store currently has over 35,000 programs of all types available for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

“The revolutionary App Store has been a phenomenal hit with iPhone and iPod touch users around the world, and we’d like to thank our customers and developers for helping us achieve the astonishing milestone of one billion apps downloaded,” said Philip Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide product marketing. “In nine months, the App Store has completely revolutionized the mobile industry and this is only the beginning.”

Mulcahey’s good timing earns him an impressive grand prize: A $10,000 iTunes gift card, an iPod Touch, an Apple Time Capsule and a MacBook Pro. Not a bad haul for grabbing a free download for his phone.
