Get ready, Borderlands fans: Gearbox has announced DLC #3 for the game – The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. We’re going to need some bigger guns.
You can say a lot about Borderlands developer Gearbox Software, but one thing you can’t say is that they haven’t been supporting their game since it came out last October, what with the two freshly-made DLC packs under its belt and all. Now, it looks like the game is going to get yet another content update, called The Secret Armory of General Knoxx.
What lurks within said Secret Armory (of General Knoxx)? Well, content aimed at higher-level players, of course, with “brutal, never-before-seen enemies” providing character advancement from characters of level 34 to level 50 – and beyond. Yes, I did say beyond, because Secret Armory will be raising the game’s level cap to… something. Either level 55 or level 60 would be my guess, but Gearbox could always throw a curveball and announce something different.
But the coolest part of The Secret Armory of General Knoxx has nothing to do with this level cap raise, and everything to do with the image you see here to the right. Apparently, the forces of the Crimson Lance have mecha – and even if they are of the ugly, blocky “Western” school of design (albeit on the cooler-looking end of that spectrum), giant robots are giant robots, and as such are inherently badass. I’m psyched for this DLC now, not gonna lie.
I am a man of simple tastes.
