This article is over 18 years old and may contain outdated information

Paul Anderson plans to begin the Castlevania movie production in spring 2007.

Film director Paul W.S. Anderson, whose past movies include Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil, has teamed with Universal Pictures label Rogue to produce a film adaptation of the popular Castlevania game series. Crystal Sky Entertainment will be co-financing and distributing the $50 million movie. Anderson is searching for filming locations in Hungary and Romania expects to be settled in by Spring 2007.

Set in the 15th century, Rogue co-president Andrew Rona describes the film as “an action/horror project in the vein of Underworld and
Blade.” Reaching as far back into the Dracula myth as Vlad the Impaler, Director Anderson claims that, “You could almost call this movie ‘Dracula Begins’.”
