Disney Dreamlight Valley: Complete Cheshire Cat Quest Guide and Rewards

Disney Dreamlight Valley has finally invited players to fall down the rabbit hole (literally) into Wonderland with its free Wonderland Whimsy update, which introduces two iconic characters and the Garden of Whimsy Star Path based on Alice in Wonderland and Disney Fairies. Starting April 23, players can invite Alice herself to live in Dreamlight Valley and begin completing her friendship quests immediately. They can also invite the Cheshire Cat to Dreamlight Valley, though true to his character, he takes a unique path.

Unlocking the Cheshire Cat

Unlike most characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley, inviting the Cheshire Cat to live with the rest of the Villagers isn’t as simple as completing his realm quests and asking him to return to the Valley with you. After inviting Alice to Dreamlight Valley, the player is tasked with returning to Wonderland to fetch the Cheshire Cat.

However, when the player asks if he’d like to visit the Valley, the Cheshire Cat vanishes. Following his pawprints through the forest takes the player to the door leading back to the Valley, where the pawprints disappear. Alice has no idea where he is, either.

Mannequin Madness

The first time the player enters Scrooge’s Store after the Cheshire Cat disappears into the Valley, they’ll encounter a huge mess and a very strange looking mannequin. This short quest is called “Mannequin Madness.” The player is tasked with cleaning up eight piles of rubbish, chatting with Alice (which is easier if she’s at least Level 2 and can hang out with you so she enters the store, too), then interacting with the mannequin three times. Each time, it will move around the store, until the third time when it disappears completely.

In its place, the player will receive a pink and purple shop coupon. Presenting it to Scrooge initiates dialogue about how he doesn’t sell the items it lists, but when he double checks his inventory, he discovers that his stocks have changed. The player can then order Purple Cat Ears (if they haven’t purchased them already) and Cheshire Cat Slippers.

Don the ears and slippers and talk to Alice. She believes the Cheshire Cat is somewhere in Dreamlight Valley and warns the player to keep an eye out for his particular brand of mischief. This concludes the quest, which is the first in a multi-step process to introducing the Cheshire Cat to the Valley.

Depending on when players complete Alice’s Level 10 friendship quest, “A Very Merry Unbirthday,” they may encounter the Cheshire Cat in the Dreamlight Castle. Otherwise, they’ll have to wait for his next bout of mischief.

Chaos in the Kitchen

Starting April 30, players who enter Remy’s restaurant will notice pink and purple paw prints all over the place. The Cheshire Cat’s eyes and smile can also be seen in the painting to the left of the kitchen and there’s a new shelf of supplies to the right of the cook station that’s hanging crookedly on the wall.

Talk to Remy to start the “Chaos in the Kitchen” quest, which is the next step in welcoming Cheshire Cat to Dreamlight Valley. Remy panics about the possibility of a cat in his restaurant, so reassure him and then set to work. Clean up each paw-printed area by interacting with it. Then, pick up the recipe that appears on the floor.

Show the recipe to Remy, then make the Cheshire Cat Tail dessert using the following ingredients.

Give the Cheshire Cat Tail to Remy and talk about how great it tastes. Then, leave the restaurant to check for additional chaos outside. Clean up three stacks of paw-printed chairs, then go back inside the restaurant.

The Cheshire Cat has arrived! Talk to him about what he’s up to, then talk to Remy to end the quest.

Cat Tree Catastrophe

Talk to Moana about something fishy happening in the Valley’s waterways. Follow her to her fishing boat, then talk to her again. She points out purple catfish that have appeared on the boat. Take a photo of them, then fish in golden bubbles on Dazzle Beach for the remaining Cheshire Catfish (5 total).

Bring the Cheshire Catfish to Alice. Go inside her house and find the Cheshire Cat. Talk to him about his Valley shenanigans. He sends you on a quest to find his tree. Go into Alice’s bedroom and take a photo of the painting behind the bookshelf, which is a miniature version of his tree from Wonderland.

Pick up the tree when it falls out of the painting and talk to the Cheshire Cat. Place the tree somewhere in the Valley, then talk to the Cheshire Cat from his perch on the branch to welcome him to Dreamlight Valley.

Cheshire Cat’s Friendship Quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley

It’s interesting to note that Cheshire Cat and Stitches—two of the most mischievous characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley—both take require multi-step quests over the course of days for players to unlock them as Villagers. But now that you’ve placed the Cat’s tree, you can complete his friendship quests.

Furniture Fluster (Level 2 Friendship)

Talk to the Cheshire Cat about how he’s mixing things up for the villagers. Next, visit “the house of the Diamond in the Rough,” AKA Aladdin. Talk to Aladdin inside his and Jasmine’s house. Remove the three pink, purple, and cutesy furniture items that have replaced the couple’s usual furniture by interacting with each item.

Talk to the Cheshire Cat. Note: In this quest and each one moving forward, even if you are hanging out with him, you need to return to the Cheshire Cat’s tree to start a new quest, and you may have. to return to the tree to start a conversation with him.

Next, find the owner of the pink, purple, and cutesy furniture: Daisy. Talk to her, then go inside her house. Remove the three items of old, rusted looking furniture in Daisy’s house by interacting with each piece. Next, interact with the purple pawprints around her house to return her furniture to its usual place.

Talk to Daisy. Now, find Wall-E, the owner of the old, rusted furniture. Go inside his house and replace his furniture by interacting with the purple pawprints. Wall-E doesn’t have anyone else’s furniture in his house, so return to the Cheshire Cat to ask about Aladdin’s furniture. He’s misplaced it.

Craft replacements for Aladdin and Jasmine’s furniture using the following materials.

Go inside Jasmine and Aladdin’s house. Put their furniture back by interacting with the purple pawprints. Talk to Aladdin, then talk to the Cheshire Cat to complete the quest.

It’s All Nonsense! (Level 4 Friendship)

Talk to Cheshire Cat at his tree. He wants to apologize to the villagers for the chaos he caused with a Nonsense Party, a Wonderland tradition he just made up. He gives you recipes for Garlic Chocolate Tart and Tea Sandwiches. Make two of each using the ingredients below.

Give the treats to Cheshire Cat. Next, make the Cheshire Cat Smile Balloon Arch using 25 Coal, 25 Snow, 10 Oregano, and 30 Raspberry. Place the balloon arch and three random furniture items near the Cheshire Cat’s tree.

Next, change into a “clashing outfit.” Include something orange, something bold, and three other random pieces of clothing. Invite Remy, Daisy, Tiana, and Scar to the Nonsense Party. Talk to Cheshire Cat for final preparations and place the Nonsense Banquet Table he gives you near his tree.

Take a group photo, talk to each guest about how they liked the party and the food, then talk to the Cheshire Cat to end the quest.

The Uncrafting Station (Level 7 Friendship)

To start the Cheshire Cat’s Level 7 Friendship quest, talk to him at his tree. Craft Three Wildly Jubilant Topiaries using 15 Clay, 15 Soil, and 5 Pink Houseleek. Give the topiaries to Cheshire Cat, who asks you to place them anywhere in the Valley. Note: You cannot place any items in this quest in either Eternity Isle or Storybook Vale.

Place the Three Wildly Jubilant Topiaries, then destroy them with your pickaxe. Collect the materials they release. Return to Cheshire and talk to him again. Take the three balloon arches from him, place them somewhere in the Valley, destroy them with your pickaxe, and collect the materials. Once again, talk to Cheshire Cat.

Now, go to the Wonderland realm and gather 20 Blue Mushroom Spores from large blue mushrooms in the forest. Return to the Valley and talk to the Cheshire Cat, who gives you the recipe for the Uncrafting Station. Craft one using 17 Glass, 28 Mushroom, 6 Purple Bell Flower, 4 Blue Passion Lilly, and 35 Hardwood.

Place the Uncrafting Station in the Valley. Use it to uncraft a piece of furniture and wait to collect its materials. Once it’s complete, collect the materials, then talk to the Cheshire Cat to complete the quest.

On a Wild Cheshire Chase (Level 10 Friendship)

Talk to the Cheshire Cat at his tree. He has a scavenger hunt for you! He gives you a note that reads:

Hidden memories ready to bloom, are in your hands, yours to consume.

Go inside Alice’s house and ask her to interpret the note, since she knows Cheshire Cat best. She says he wants you to eat his note. Eat it from your inventory and pick up the memory that appears on the floor of Alice’s house.

The memory shows a door in Dreamight Castle covered in night thorns with Cheshire’s photo on it. To the left of the door is a tree with cartons of milk and a rose “growing” on it. Go inside Dreamlight Castle and up to the third level. Interact with the tree between the Monsters, Inc. and Beauty and the Beast realm doors. Pick up the two cartons of Spoiled Milk and single White Rose that fall out.

Talk to Alice. Next, go to the Queen’s garden in the Wonderland realm. Interact with the white rose tree in the back of the garden by the locked gate and put back the White Rose. Pick up the Dried Sprout that falls out, then step through the portal that appears.

Follow the purple pawprints through Mickey’s secret room in Dreamlight Castle. Pick up the Cheshire Catfish in the back left corner of the first room. Leave the room and talk to the Cheshire Cat. He gives you another riddle:

I’m small and round, crushed and ground. “A bean,” they say, “to start the day.” What am I?

Harvest some coffee beans. Cook all of your gathered ingredients together: 2 Spoiled Milk, 1 Cheshire Catfish, 1 Dried Sprout, and 1 Coffee Bean. Give the Cheshire Cat the Cheshire Cat Concotion you’ve created.

He tells you to take it fishing and offers another riddle:

More solid than water, though may be its daughter. It stoppers the flow and warmth is its foe.

If you ask for a second clue, he says:

Shiver, tremble, dizzy with cold. It starts to smart with too long a hold!

Use the Cheshire Cat Concoction in your inventory and go to the Frosted Heights. Fish in the gold bubbles in the small pond. You’ll earn the Cheshire Chest, which you need to then take back to the Cheshire Cat. He offers it to you as your prize. Open it in your inventory and receive the Cheshire Cat Jacket and Cheshire Cat Gloves.

Rewards from Cheshire Cat’s Friendship Path

To level up friendship with the Cheshire Cat in Disney Dreamlight Valley, start discussions with him every day and max out his favorite gifts by giving him three per day (typically meals and flowers). Hang out with him as you complete tasks. While he may not always be visible the way that other villagers are, trust that he is gaining experience points in the usual way. If you want to make sure he’s still actively hanging out with you, visit him at his tree and check his status in the interaction tree.
