ET-X: The Sequel to E.T. Sets the World On Fire

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

In 1982, E.T. phoned home and touched the hearts of audiences worldwide. In 2011, he’s back, and phoning home won’t be so easy because this time it’s off the hook.

Maybe you’re too young to have seen E.T. when it first hit theaters all those years ago but any self-respecting nerd will have a grasp of the basics: an ugly-cute alien arrives on Earth, befriends a young boy, has a few adventures and eventually “phones home” to escape a panicked humanity. It was a touching tale and a huge hit, and now it’s finally time for the long-awaited sequel. But this time around, E.T. not hiding – and he’s brought some friends.

In ET-X: Extinction, E.T.’s people return to Earth in force, packing serious heat and spoiling for a fight. Why are they here? What do they want? And will humanity be able to hold off the onslaught long enough to create a super-weapon capable of driving the vicious, toad-skinned invaders off the planet once and for all?

Starring Henry Thomas, Drew Barrymore, Peter Coyote, Bruce Willis, David Morse, C. Thomas Howell, Barack Obama, the Jonas Brothers and Morgan Freeman, who is in freakin’ everything, ET-X: Extinction lands in movie theaters this summer, in 3D!

(For the record, no, this is not a real thing. It’s a YouTube video created by the immensely talented Robert Blankenheim, and if it’s not the coolest thing you’ve seen all day, I truly feel sad for you.)
