Bad news, F.E.A.R. fans: the upcoming horror-shooter F.E.A.R. 3 has been pushed back to June.
The latest chapter in the tale of two brothers and a mom who’s just looking for someone to love was originally slated for release on May 27 but it turns out that we’re going to have to wait a little while longer than that. U.K. retailer GameGears tweeted yesterday that F.E.A.R. 3 “has slipped to June,” a statement that WBIE confirmed today with Eurogamer. No reason for the delay was given but it’s probably not unreasonable to suggest that Warner wouldn’t mind putting a little more distance between its game and Rockstar’s L.A. Noire, which comes out on May 17.
WBIE has also released a new story arc video briefly recapping the events of the first two games and the relationship between Alma Wade, Paxton Fettel and the Point Man. For some reason, the video doesn’t touch on the role of F.E.A.R. 2 hero Michael Becket, aka “Daddy Dearest,” although I suppose that the less we think about that little incident, the better it is for everyone.
F.E.A.R. 3 is now due out on June 24 for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
