Fan Recreates StarCraft, a la Lego

This article is over 14 years old and may contain outdated information

If there were ever a Lego StarCraft game, it might look something like this.

Hm, what’s that? Oh, apparently there’s a sequel to this really old game about crafting stars or something that came out this week. I hadn’t been paying attention, sorry.

In all seriousness, this week in gaming is pretty much all about the splendid StarCraft II (sorry, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift) and the legacy of the beloved first game. To get into the spirit, one Machinima moviemaker recreated a small sequence that you might see in the original StarCraft … only he did it with Lego bricks.

It’s a short, silly little vignette that manages to be remarkably faithful to the 1998 RTS despite being made entirely of Lego pieces rather than pixels. Though I guess the video is a better resolution than you ever saw in StarCraft, huh?

Stupid Carriers. Those things are so overpowered, even in brick form.

(Thanks, Alai!)
