Five former Star Trek captains will lend their voices to Bethesda’s upcoming Star Trek: Legacy game for the Xbox 360 and PC.

William Shatner, Scott Bakula and every classic Star Trek captain in between will be lending their voice talents to Bethesda’s upcoming Star Trek: Legacy game. Yahoo caught up with William Shatner to ask why he decided to lend his voice to the game. “I couldn’t imagine someone else playing Captain Kirk, even in a video game, so I kind of got a little territorial,” he said. “If it’s a good game, keeping true to the characters the best they can and having an interesting story that branches, I think a game can bring a freshness to a franchise like ‘Star Trek.”

After four seasons of poor ratings on television, Star Trek: Enterprise was cancelled and left a void which has not been filled since. Bethesda secured the rights to create non-MMO Star Trek games last year and has announced a number of new games for handhelds, consoles and the PC. Star Trek: Legacy is a real time strategy game spanning the entire period covered by all the shows.
