GameStop Makes Arkham City Animated Skin PowerUp Exclusive

Give GameStop your email address and it will give you Batman.

Retailer exclusive pre-order bonuses are nothing new, but GameStop has taken the exclusivity one step further with the Batman: The Animated Series skin for Arkham City, and is limiting it to only those who have signed up for the PowerUp reward card.

If you want the skin – which can be used in both the main game and the challenge maps – you can pick up a PowerUp card for free in store. You can completely ignore it after that – except for when promotions like this come around – if you want to. Pre-ordering at GameStop will also grant access to the “Joker’s Carnival” challenge map, which you get whether you have a reward card or not.

Batman: The Animated Series was where Kevin Conroy first played the Dark Knight and the inclusion of the skin, which is a incredibly faithful recreation of how Batman looked in the show, has made a lot of fans very happy. It’s a little annoying that there are so many hoops to jump through in order to actually get it, but at least they’re not overly arduous.

Batman: Arkham City comes out for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on October 18th.
