Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Release Date Set for October, Pre-Orders Live

Developer Illfonic has announced a Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed release date of October 18, 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, and PC via the Epic Games Store. Retailer preorders are available now for those looking to jump on the Ecto-1 early, while digital preorders will go live starting tomorrow.

“The reaction from fans of Ghostbusters has blown us away,” Illfonic CEO Charles Brungardt said in a press release. “Putting a date on and opening up preorders for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed feels like an out of body experience, and we cannot wait for everyone to feel the same sensation on Tuesday, October 18.”

Those who preorder digitally gain advance access to Slimer, a special Particle Thrower and Proton Pack, and unique clothing colorways. Meanwhile, a physical preorder grants the Basher Ghost, a rare Ectoplast Skin, a Remote Trap Vehicle Skin, and a unique P.K.E. Meter.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is a 4v1 experience where a team of Ghostbusters group up to outsmart a ghostly opponent. The project was announced earlier this year as the next title from the developers behind other similar titles such as the Friday the 13th video game and Predator: Hunting Grounds. It will make a very spooky entrance on PC and consoles this October. In the meantime, you can tune in to Illfonic’s Twitch channel tomorrow at 11:15 p.m. PST for a dev stream with a look at live Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed gameplay ahead of the October release date.
