Sony and Santa Monica Studio are targeting a November 2022 release date for God of War Ragnarok on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, according to a report from Bloomberg. This report arrives after rumors sprouted over the past week suggesting that the title may have been quietly delayed to 2023. That is apparently not the case. Although God of War Ragnarok was internally scheduled to arrive in September 2022 at one point, the developer supposedly pushed the release window to November only recently.

Bloomberg’s reporting on the release date is based on the word of three anonymous sources familiar with the development of God of War Ragnarok. Two of those individuals stated that they expect Sony to publicly confirm a release date before June comes to an end. However, Santa Monica Studio has delayed its highly anticipated sequel before in order to adjust to the effects of the pandemic. As with any unreleased video game, God of War Ragnarok could be delayed again before the November window rolls around.

God of War Ragnarok was revealed in 2020 as the next (and final) chapter in Sony’s action franchise’s Norse saga. Our best look arrived last year with a trailer that teased Kratos and Atreus’ next harrowing adventure. Stay tuned for information on the final release date of the game.
