Sumthing Else Music Works has announced the forthcoming release of the Halo 3 Original Soundtrack.
The soundtrack will be released as a two-CD set on the Sumthing Else Music Works label, and will also be available as a digital download from Sumthing Digital. Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori, the creative minds behind the music of Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, have composed all-new symphonic music for the soundtrack, which also includes new arrangements of the game’s musical theme. The complete soundtrack will include two hours of original Halo 3 music.
Released on September 25, Halo 3 is already a massive sales hit, and has set numerous records along the way. The game generated $170 million in sales on its first day of release, moving to over $300 million after one week.
Originally launched to support independent artists and unique projects, Sumthing Else Music Works has experienced considerable success with previous videogame soundtrack releases, having released music from games including Hitman, Gears of War, Advent Rising and Age of Empires III. The Halo 3 Original Soundtrack will be released in the U.S. on November 20.
