Kingdom Under Fire Goes Gold

An Xbox 360 hack-and-slash roleplaying game is on the verge of making its debut.

Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom, the third iteration of Korean-based developer Blueside’s roleplaying game series, has officially gone gold.

Microsoft made the announcement yesterday, indicating the game is prepped for its January 8 North American release.

The game will launch in Asia and Australia – two markets where the PS3 is more competitive with the 360 – a bit earlier, on December 13. Everywhere else will see a February 1 release.

Though the previous two titles were oriented toward a mix of action and strategy, the 360 debut will rely more on a classic hack-and-slash approach.

Four-player cooperative and single-player storyline campaign modes have been announced for the title.
