After disappointing gamers by not releasing Marvel Vs Capcom 2 this past week, Capcom hopes to renew the title’s furor with a vow to release the game on July 29.
Curiously, Capcom’s official announcement only specifically mentions an Xbox Live Arcade version of the gimmicky fighter. This is not to say that the company quietly killed the PS3 iteration, but more likely indicates that the company simply has yet to hear back from Sony’s approval board.
Barring (unforeseen) marketing shenanigans between Microsoft and Capcom designed specifically to crush the spirits of Sony’s fans, we expect the details found in this morning’s announcement to apply to both of the new-generation versions of MvC2:
The day you’ve been waiting for is just around the corner. Today we are announcing that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will be available globally as part of Microsoft’ s “Summer of Arcade” through Xbox Live on Wednesday, July 29 for 1,200 Microsoft Points.
Presumably those “1,200 Microsoft Points” will metamorphose into much less arbitrary real-world denominations prior to Sony’s version of this media blurb.
