Along with its new $350 price point, the new Xbox 360 Premium version will now feature HDMI ports.
In an emailed statement to Shacknews, a Microsoft official confirmed some anecdotal evidence received by the Web site.
“Yes, we are offering an HDMI port for Xbox 360 simply as another choice in Xbox 360 owners’ games and entertainment experience. Retailers are gradually introducing HDMI-enabled Xbox 360s into the channel to meet demand,” the e-mail explained.
No similar announcement was in store for the $280 360 Core, however. The representative also would not say whether the graphics or processor unit in any iteration of the console has been moved to a 65 nanometer production process.
The 360 Elite, released over the spring, was the first to feature HDMI. 360s bundled with Halo 3, due in September, will also feature the interface port.
