The Thirteenth Eclipse, the latest free content update for Dungeons & Dragons Online, was released today, offering an increased level cap, new monters and regions, and much more.
Players will now be able to reach 16th level, opening up access to 8th-level spells like Polar Ray, Sunburst, Firestorm and Trap the Soul, along with new abilities, feats and skills. Three new areas of Stormreach are now available, including the Vale of Twilight region designed specifically for high-level characters, and more than 12 new monster classes have also been added. A new 12-player raid, the game’s biggest yet, has been added, and a new Prototype Crafting System with over 1000 recipes is also now available to players.
“The Thirteenth Eclipse offers an enormous amount of content for DDO players,” said Dungeon & Dragons Online Senior Producer Kate Paiz. “We are really excited with how far DDO has come since we launched almost two years ago, and we have big plans for the game in the coming year.”
Developed by Turbine and published by Atari, Dungeons & Dragons Online takes place in the new world of Eberron that was first unveiled in 2004 following a contest held by Wizards of the Coast to find a new setting for the game. Eberron mixes traditional Dungeons & Dragons environments with less conventional technologies including trains, skyships and other magically-powered technologies.
