New Super SF4 Trailer Debuts SF3‘s Dudley, Ibuki, Makoto

Street Fighter III fans rejoice: Capcom’s latest Super Street Fighter IV trailer shows off fan favorites Dudley, Ibuki and Makoto in all of their full current-gen, 3D-modeled glory.

*ahem* If you’ll excuse me, I’d first like to refer back to the news post I made back in September when Capcom officially announced Super Street Fighter IV:

This, of course, leaves five unannounced characters, and while it’s possible that some of them could be original fighters like Juri, it’s probable that some of them will be fan favorites from other games as well. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Dudley and Ibuki from Street Fighter III, personally.

And now we have the above trailer. So, on behalf of my past-self-from-September: Thank you, Capcom. Thank you from the bottom of my gentleman-fighter heart.

Yes, it’s true, Street Fighter III fans! Not only will Super Street Fighter IV introduce new Tae Kwon Do fighter Juri; not only will Super Street Fighter IV bring back Street Fighter Alpha mainstays Guy, Cody, and Adon and Super Street Fighter II‘s T. Hawk and Dee Jay… but the game will feature the triumphant return of three of the most beloved characters from SF3 as well: Ninja girl Ibuki, gentleman brawler Dudley, and karate heiress Makoto are all going to be stepping into the ring to throw down with the new generation of heroes.

This makes me a very happy fighting game fan, and also amuses me considering that one of Sakura’s alternate SF4 costumes was essentially Makoto’s outfit minus pants. Maybe Makoto will have an alternate schoolgirl outfit? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Dibs on Dudley.
