ARC Raiders winter event is nearly here, with the Flickering Flames event getting its own trailer. In that trailer, we got a tease of what is coming, featuring the Cold Snap effect, new Raider deck and more. More importantly, we got a release date of when this is coming too, with it launching on December 16th.
It does mean that the ARC Raiders Cold Snap release date is indeed tomorrow (at the time of writing). The new map condition brings a snowy effect to several in-game maps, changing the visual atmosphere and potentially affecting gameplay visibility.
The winter event continues ARC Raiders’ seasonal content cadence, following previous updates that added new mechanics and progression systems. Cold Snap represents the game’s first weather-based map condition outside of the launch night-time and magnetic storm conditions.
Those who go into Cold Snap maps will find a wintery skin on the map, alongside the new Frostbite survival feature. Players must watch out for frostbite, a status effect that will slowly drain the player’s health bar away as the biting cold gets to them. Expect to take shelter and warm up before adventuring through the blistering cold to extract or cause chaos on the map.
The trailer also hinted at the new Winter Project coming, entitled the Candleberry Banquet. There will be more things to do there, alongside more quests added to the game for those looking to get more progression opportunities. The Expedition Window opens too, meaning there will be time to complete a project and wipe your character if that’s something you want to do for a fresh start. Players were not happy with the rewards for the expedition upon their reveal. So, wipe or not is entirely up to you. There’s also a new Raider deck with some apparel to get, alongside a new store theme set called Misthorn for those of you interested in cosmetics.
You can catch the lowdown of what is coming with the Cold Snap and Flickering Flames event in the trailer below. It’s the first big update since the North Line update, and one that you can enjoy all the way through the Holidays.
